... all returning missioners who have served in another culture, either internationally or domestically, no matter how long they served
… any missioners who would like to join with others to process their experience, not just for those who had difficulty in their mission experience or in their return
… missioners who would like to take time to honor the mission experience
The Workshop Experience Ten day workshops utilize the following elements: A. Telling the story: A process of telling the story of the mission experience. A session on violence and trauma is included.
B. Integrating mission experience: A time for reflection on the gifts of the cross-cultural experience which are now brought to mission in the home culture.
C. Re-entry: A surfacing of trends in the North American society and Church, sorting out the feelings from one's return and looking at the response to that reality.
D. Skills assessment and goal setting: An assessment of individual skills and help with setting short-term personal goals to incorporate the cross-cultural experience into the next phase of the journey.
E. Networking: Cross-cultural missioners learn of resources and groups available to help in this time of transition, as well as in living mission in this culture.
Weekend workshops Weekend workshops run Thursday evening through Sunday mid-day and are designed for people with limited time availability. Weekends are an abbreviated format of the ten day workshop, focusing on telling the story and integrating the mission experience. If you have served a significant amount of time in another culture, we highly recommend our ten-day workshop. If you are unable to attend the ten-day, this weekend workshop will still provide a positive and valuable opportunity to honor your experience.
